Anna: What is Winning Message in a nutshell?
Kevin: I help companies differentiate themselves through key messages & writing that helps you stand above the competition and appeal to customers with a valued proposition they can relate to.
Anna: Why is it important to use a copywriter?
Kevin: Unlike a brick and mortar business, people may "visit your business" online for a mere two seconds. If the copy doesn't immediately resonate with them, they'll leave and go to your competitor.
Anna: How long have you been in business?
Kevin: Since November of 2006 -- so, seven months.
Anna: What makes you stand out from your competitors?
Kevin: Every piece of business writing I produce is carefully crafted with my clients key message in mind. It's apparent to me that other copywriterssimply put pen to paper.
Anna: Who do you market your news letter toward?
Kevin: Small businesses in Ventura County, current and existing clients and people that have read my articles and have received my emails that way.
Anna: What would you say has made your business the most successful so far?
Kevin: Networking -- Through professional networking groups, other local professionals and past contacts. There was a site that got me started... elance.com. It was 90% for the first few months and now it's about 15% of my business.
Anna: Do you have any advice for small business owners trying to get more visibility?
Kevin: Write topical articles or pay someoneto write topical articles on your business. This positions you as a thought leader and gives you a tremendous marketing vehicle to draw people to your site.
